AS Foundation Portfolio Evaluation

The evaluation is an important part of the Foundation Portfolio. You must evaluate and reflect upon the creative process electronically using your blog.

In the evaluation the following seven questions must be answered:

1.    In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2.    How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3.    What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

4.    Who would be the audience for your media product?

5.    How did you attract/address your audience?

6.    What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

7.    Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Final Deadline for Foundation Portfolio Evaluation

The final deadline to complete the evaluation section of the Foundation Portfolio is Friday 4th May 2012. You should have answered all of the 7 evaluation questions on your blog by this date. This will be the final deadline for the whole project.

You will need to save your finished magazine pages as Adobe PDF documents and place them in a folder with your name and candidate number on it. 

Deadline for Contents Page

The deadline for the music magazine contents page is Friday 30th March 2012.

You should have completed the front cover, double page article and the contents page by Monday 2nd April 2012.

You will then need to begin to answer the seven questions for the evaluation.

This must include audience feedback. You can only carry out audience feedback when you have completed all the pages of your production.

Half Term Homework - Contents Page

Find examples of at least three contents pages from music magazines and post them on your blog.

You should analyse each of the contents pages in terms of layout, design and content.

Deadline: 22nd February 2012

Music Magazine Double Page Spread

Deadline for Music Magazine Double Page Spread is Friday 24th February 2012.
You need to have posted your double page spread on your blog by Monday 27th February 2012.

Remember to complete the following research and planning:

• Post examples of real music magazine articles on your blog.
• Analyse the articles in terms of layout and content.
• Post the draft versions of your article on your blog.

Foundation Portfolio Deadlines

School magazine cover: Friday, 11th November 2011.

·       School magazine cover completed and saved as a JPEG and posted on blog.

·       Evaluation of the school magazine front cover on the blog.

Your blog should contain the following entries:

·       School magazine questionnaire

·       Evaluation of school questionnaire

·       Photo of draft pages of cover

·       At least 3 images to be used on the cover.

·       The front cover of the school magazine.

·       An evaluation of the school magazine cover.
